Fantasy Football: Week 11 Waiver Wire and Injury Report

NOTE: Honestly, this is not the best week for waiver wire additions. There were not too many new injuries this week, and therefore not too many changes for fantasy. Don’t bid too much or waste a high waiver priority on any of these options. Here are players you can turn to if you are desperate. You’re probably better off keeping your own guys this week, in most cases.

QUARTERBACKS:

Kirk Cousins (MIN): If you have read anything that I have written so far this season, you know I do not believe Kirk Cousins is a long-term difference maker for fantasy. That being said, he’s got a great matchup this week versus the Cowboys. We know this Cowboys defense, despite coming off a bye, is in rough shape. Dallas allows the fourth-most passing touchdowns per game and have allowed top-ten quarterback production over the course of the season. They are a good team to pick on for the foreseeable future. In a week without QBs like Josh Allen, Drew Brees, Daniel Jones, Nick Mullens, Nick Foles, Cousins is someone you can turn to in a nice matchup.

Jameis Winston (NO): Drew Brees suffered a fractured rib and a punctured lung injury that is expected to keep him out for a handful of weeks. Winston is the next man up, and the Saints over the next two weeks play at home versus Atlanta, and then in Denver the following week. Two solid spots for Winston.

RUNNING BACKS:

Salvon Ahmed (MIA): Miami released Jordan Howard on Monday afternoon, paving the way for more opportunities for Ahmed. To be fair, the RB talent for the Dolphins is not that impressive. However, in his debut, Ahmed rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown, which was a pleasant surprise for Miami. I’m expecting a committee situation, but Ahmed did enough to earn a second look for the Dolphins.

Damien Harris (NE): Harris has really come along over these last few weeks, scoring 16.20, 7.10, and 12.10 fantasy points over that span. New England is always going to be tough to predict which RB to use, between Harris, White, Burkhead, Michel, but Harris has been solid over the last few weeks. Speaking of the last four weeks, Harris faces a Houston Texans team who has allowed the second-most fantasy points over that span.

WIDE RECEIVERS:

Jakeem Grant (MIA): The Dolphins have been hit with the injury bug at receiver this year, whether its players opting out due to COVID-19, or injuries in general. That has them turning to Jakeem Grant as their new number two wide out, who came through in Week 10. He might be a useful fourth or fifth receiver if you are desperate.

Josh Reynolds (LAR): Quietly, over his last four games, Josh Reynolds has been productive for Fantasy purposes. In Week 6 he scored 12.50, 15.20 in Week 7, 8.40 in Week 8, and he came back with 17.40 this past week after a Week 9 bye. He’s still the third receiver for the Rams, but he is someone to keep an eye on for the future, as he led the team in targets this week.

TIGHT ENDS:

Ross Dwelley: Any tight end with a pulse is worth adding in your fantasy league at this point. One of those guys is Ross Dwelley. Over the last two weeks, Dwelley has scored 16.80 PPR Fantasy points, total, which puts him as the TE12 over that span. Tight End is literally a waste land this year. Anyone with a pulse deserves a mention. Don’t sleep on Dalton Schultz who is coming off a bye as well.

Kyle Rudolph (MIN): Rudolph has basically been a non-factor in fantasy this season. However, anyone playing teams like the Cowboys, who are dreadful against the tight end, deserve a look. Especially with teammate Irv Smith missing Week 10, and his Week 11 status in question, Rudolph might not be a bad option to turn to as he has a nice matchup coming up.

DEFENSES:

Los Angeles Chargers (LAC): The Chargers’ Week 11 opponent: Joe Flacco and The New York Jets. That is all.

Minnesota Vikings (MIN): Minnesota faces a Dallas team who is likely going to be starting Garrett Gilbert, as of now. Unless Dalton is cleared to play, it will be Gilbert. Regardless, whoever starts for the Cowboys this week, we will just be streaming defenses against them.

KICKERS:

Brandon McManus (DEN): Sometimes, I feel like a broken record repeating the same players, but I do it anyway. McManus should be owned in your fantasy league for two reasons. One, he has a matchup versus Miami next week in Denver. The second reason is over the last two weeks, McManus is a top-12 kicker for fantasy, despite the Broncos’ struggles on offense.

Jason Myers (SEA): Another kicker who should be owned is the Seahawks kicker, Jason Myers. Myers has been a top-ten kicker for fantasy over the last two weeks and gets a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Cardinals this week in a game that has a 58.5 opening total. We want to own players in this game.
